60~64세 고용률 20대 앞서
New data shows the employment rate among some senior citizens is higher than that of workers in their twenties. And that’s been true now for three years in a row.
According to Statistics Korea, the employment rate for workers 60 to 64 years old stands at 59-point-4 percent, 1-point-6 percentage points higher than that for 20-somethings.
And the employment rate for those older workers is rising — it’s up 1-point-1 percentage points from last year.
Most of those seniors — 58 percent — said they work to pay their bills, while about 35 percent said they work for the pleasure of being employed.
