Usability
OnlyWire is a content submission and bookmarking plugin for WordPress. It fulfills multiple internet marketing requirements like drawing traffic to your WP blog/site, increasing search engine rankings and posting a large number of backlinks.
The plugin features four important tool, viz. the OnlyWire Submitter, Browser Bookmarklet, Bookmark and Share button and finally the Developer API.
The OnlyWire Submitter comes into use once you have physically entered the login information for all your social media accounts. Once this is done, you can use the Submitter tool to auto-submit the selected content to a large number of social media websites. For a complete list of supported websites, see here .
The Browser Bookmarklet tool lets you update your status and post bookmarks to all your social media websites at one go. Similarly the Bookmark and Share button can also be used to automatically post your browser’s favorite/bookmarked links to all your social media accounts.
Finally, the OnlyWire API tool lets you customize the submission process completely. You can actually program OnlyWire and control the time and frequency of your posts to your social media accounts. Additionally, OnlyWire’s API uses http authentication which can be modified via any programming language making it easy to use for a large cross-section of developers.
If any of your blog viewers also uses OnlyWire then he can also post your content on his social media account by a simple click of a button. This increases the visibility of your content exponentially and prevents it from being marked as spam.
OnlyWire is offered in two versions; the Pro version and the Enterprise version. The Pro version is meant for single blog/website owners and can be used totally free of cost for the first 300 submissions. Once the free limit is used up, users have to pay on a per submission basis with fees ranging from $10 for 1000 submissions to $130 for 1,00,000 submissions.
On the other hand, the Enterprise plan is clearly meant for multiple site owners and professional SEO experts. The Enterprise plan lets you add unlimited users, offers 24/7 Live Support, comes with an inbuilt Captcha server, offers User Analytics and finally comes with a dedicated account manager to take care of your problems. The Enterprise plan starts at $200 per month for 10000 submission and goes up to $20000 per month for 2,000,000 submissions.
Using OnlyWire for content syndication and bookmarking gives you the added benefit of posting a large number of backlinks on popular social media websites. This benefits your WP site greatly as social media websites are a huge source of traffic and your posted content can attract a lot of eyeballs your way. Additionally, these websites are regularly trawled by search engines like Google which helps index your backlinks and improve your search engine rankings considerably.
On the flip side, we must say that many of the advertised social media sites are not compatible with OnlyWire and no posting takes place. Similarly, other users have even complained that posting fails even when the plugin status shows otherwise.
The other major problem with OnlyWire is the lack of any RSS functionality. Most other bookmarking and backlinking plugins let you create automatic blog posts by extracting data from RSS feeds which lets you create a large number of blog posts almost simultaneously. This feature is sorely lacking in OnlyWire.
Conclusion
To sum it all up, OnlyWire is a useful content syndication and bookmarking plugin. It is practically free for the average user. It features an easy to use interface and it does automate the process of content syndication and bookmarking. Having said that, if you are a serious affiliate marketer or SEO professional and want to focus on creating backlinks that work, there are significantly better options out there and you should give this plugin a miss.

Hi,
I used to have OnlyWire installed on my blog in the early days of my blogging.
I found it really cumbersome and it was always the last thing to load for web pages which is a serious issue in the eyes of Google since they’re increasingly looking to page load times as a measure of their worthiness and value to their searchers.
Furthermore, when you expand the plugin, there are simply too many options for people to use which ultimately means they take no action.
In my opinion, it is far better to provide less sharing options. Just the main ‘Tweet’ and ‘Like’ buttons and possibly the ‘Digg’ and ‘Stumble’ buttons. There really isn’t any need for anything more.
You can ping content using ping.fm once you’ve configured it.
Thanks,
Wayne
I have just tried it out on my blog. I do not like the expanded box when the Share it button is clicked. Furthermore, it is slow to load when the expanded box tabs are clicked and it looks a bit confusing. Overall, I just don’t feel comfortable using it.
I have never used OnlyWire plugin but reading its features it seems to me as if I should have used it earlier. Thanks for providing such good information.
Thanks for honest review, must say I was excited when I saw the list of sites but then read your verdict! Will give it a miss…
Thanks for the review Hendrik.
It looks like a essential service for the price it offers. Sending from my iPhone 4 here by the way. The mobile submission feature looks good to. Will try it later.
