SEO Ultimate is a competitor of one of our favorite SEO plugins – All In One SEO Pack. It has recently been updated and has added many of new features. The developers of SEO Ultimate describe their plugin as the Swiss army knife of SEO plugins, desined to optimize your blog for the search engines.
Lets have a look whether SEO Ultimate delivers what it promises.
Usability
The plugin is easily installed using the WordPress built in plugin installer. Simply download the SEO Ultimate archive (zip) file to your computer and use the WordPress plugin upload process to install and activate SEO Ultimate. SEO Ultimate comes with a unique feature – a module manager. The module manager allows you to enable, disable and even hide certain SEO Ultimate modules. This can be useful as the plugin does not consume unnecessary resources when it’s not running modules you do not use.
So in practice I just disable modules I only need now and then and only enable them when needed.
SEO Ultimate is easy to navigate and use. Every setting that applies to individual posts you can adjust on the “Edit Post” page as well as through the plugin’s settings (see video below). The great thing about this is that you always have every blog post SEO setting right where you need it.
Also the plugin comes with its own drop down menu full of menu items. When you open the menu items some of them are neatly organized with tabs for easy navigation.
Features
SEO Ultimate comes with all the SEO plugin features such as title, meta tag and meta description rewriter and much more:
- no-follow / no-index manager for every individual post, category, page, etc.
- competition research
- pretty awesome module to automatically create deeplinks to certain posts, pages, URLs, etc
- 404 monitor so you know where there are links pointing to nowhere
- no-follow manger where you can set certain links to no-follow (e.g. registration link, login link, etc.)

Conclusion
The developers of SEO Ultimate claim that this is the Swiss army knife of SEO plugins which can be used to optimize your site for search engines – AND they are nearly right. SEO Ultimate comes with many unique and handy features that I found useful when optimizing blog posts and other content during testing.
It has everything that All In One SEO, Headspace 2 and other leading SEO plugins offer. Moreover, SEO Ultimate is easy to use as the menu structure is well organized and easy to navigate.
My only complaint with SEO Ultimate is that is does not help you to optimize your blog post for the keyword(s) you are targeting like SEOPressor does. It would be nice to get all these features in on one plugin, but maybe that is too much too ask for. When used with SEOPressor SEO Ultimate make a formidable SEO optimization team!

Another excellent plugin, but after trying it as well as the others, I like Yoast’s SEO plugin.
I have tried Yoast’s SEO Plugin as well at the beginning of this year and found it quite buggy.
Where do you see the advantages?
I’ve never found a bug/glitch that Yoast wasn’t able to clear up for me, and all of them were plug-in or theme related, not his. It also seems to be the lightest of the bunch, and WordPress being the slowest thing on earth, light is good. More specifically, his was the only one that’s manipulation of the google preview actually worked consistently for me. It’s all subjective of course. No doubt there are technical things that you like better about the others, but I’m technically challenged, so for me it’s all about WYSIWYG.

Hendrik, I have used All In One SEO plugin exclusively on my sniper sites so far, but I find this new plugin quite interesting. If the video is anything to go by, I am going to try it one one of my sites that needs to rank a bit better and see if it makes a difference, before abandoning All In One in favour of it. I must admit that it does look like it may require a bit of a learning curve for relative newcomers to internet marketing like me, but I’m sure I can make it work. I can see advantages in a lot of the things you point out in your video, so I think it is definitely a “must try”. Thanks for sharing the information.

It is definitely worth looking into. And it is easier than you think it is because each menu item is just named what you are looking for. I mean, just start with the basics: titles, meta description, etc and move from there to more advanced things.
The plugin has flaws that can lead to malicious code installs etc.. Not recommended.

firstly thanks for making this site,seems like there is a lot of useful stuff around here. I was wondering, do the plugins work on wp.com as well as wp.org ? As some have taken me to pages where it said .org. Wouldnt want to activate something that would mess up my site.

I’m currently using SEO by Yoast on one of my sites, will try this plugin by replacing SEO by Yoast.
I’ve been using SEO Ultimate for about 2 months now. I use All In Seo on another blog I do work for but I think I’ll switch over to SEO Ultimate when I get a chance.

All in one SEO pack is on the top but in some time SEO ultimate may overtake it. The plugin is free to use with really cool settings which are good for websites SEO.
Great stuff and when I was first starting online I could not believe how fast xml sitemaps would get my sites indexed. Thanks again for great value.
I did look at SEO Ultimate a while back as I was never really that happy with all-in-one-seo (mostly because it can slow your site down a little).
Might have to revisit SEO Ultimate to see what’s been added since I last used it.
I’ve used Seo Ultimate and fell in love with it, great rankings, rapid indexing. It worked for a couple of months then it slowed my site significantly. No support for the plugin so I had to dump it and go with all in one wish they fixed the bugs because it can be a force to reckon with when working effectively
