The Army Physical Employment Standards Assessment (PESA) aims to ensure that you are physically prepared for your particular employment category. It is the third level of physical assessment trainees undertake, approximately eight weeks into training. The PESA is the baseline standard for all employment categories, while Combat Arms and Infantry have a higher standard.
Once you have passed the initial Pre-Enlistment/Appointment Fitness Assessment (PFA) on joining the Army, Army will prepare you to achieve these more demanding physical standards. This information has been provided to ensure you are aware of the physical employment standards that will be required of you.
