문 대통령, 집무실에 일자리 상황판…”경제정책 일자리로 완성”
A new display panel was installed at the top office.
More than just a fancy office decor, it provides all kinds of employment data and helps him keep an eye on the job market on a daily basis.
Hwang Hojun gets us better acquainted with the system that reflects President Moon’s will to follow through on his key pledge.
Less than two weeks ago, President Moon Jae-in signed his first executive order establishing a presidential committee on job creation.
And as of Wednesday morning, the president’s main office has a display showing the nation’s employment situation around the clock.
The President and his key aides, including the vice chair of the job creation committee, gathered at President Moon’s office… to witness the installation and a demonstration.
This was the first time the press has been invited to see the president’s new primary workplace, relocated to Yeo-min gwan, an office building where the President’s senior secretaries work as well.
The electronic bulletin board consists of two large panels, one of which shows 18 key indicators related not only to the quantity but also the quality of jobs.
These indicators include the overall number of jobs, the youth jobless rate, the proportion of temporary jobs, the wage disparity, and average working hours.
The most recent employment rate can also be seen, which can then be categorized by area, gender, and even by country.
The other panel shows the changes in those 18 indicators over the past two years.
Cheong Wa Dae said it will link the board to employment-related network systems so the President gets automatic updates.
After the board was introduced, President Moon tried it out to look up some numbers.
I said I’ll be a leader who creates jobs. And I kept my campaign promise to set up the job creation committee as well as the employment situation board, which I will check every single day.
But more important than my promises, is that we see positive results.
” , , , . , .”
President Moon also seeks to make the data on the employment situation board public…, so people can check it on their computers and mobile devices.
“With the installation of the employment situation board in his office and his pledge to use the system everyday to monitor the market, President Moon is sending a strong message to the people that he is serious about his promise to create jobs… and determined to improve their quality.
