@kopynd1 It is hard. I have changed jobs 3 times since 2009, each time I
had to relocate. These changes were due to threat of redundancy ONLY. In
todays society, there really is no help, you have to see things through on
your own – having an income is not a right anymore, it is now a priviledge
    AND YOUR EMPLOYER IS “god”.

This fat guy is speaking utter BS! The hardcore facts are that most
employers and recruiters these days want younger people because firstly
they can pay them less and secondly make them work overtime without pay. We
have been mind prepped into believing that young is beautiful and young
faces fronting a company makes it look attractive in a marketing field..
this is how fickle society have become!

I agree, i might as well be my employers slave so that I don’t get sacked
at some point down the line, for supposedly decent pay which get taxed so
much that I might as well work at mdonalds

Employers are automating all jobs The first to be eliminated are older
workers, i.e. over 50. The next to be eliminated will be the 40-50 age
group. Then younger workers will be jettisoned as employers in America,
England and worldwide will automate all jobs to do away with all salaries,
wages, commisons and bonuses. Self employment is fraught with danger,
competition, scams but it is the only way left. The Jobless Society is
    Here!!!

Lord Digby is a complete idiot, it is alright for him with his plush
lifestyle, does he really know what it is like to be a Bricklayer and how
hard the work is. It takes at least three years to become anywhere a
    skilled Tradesman.

Hard for everyone…I will be 46 this year…very frugal, but it is getting
harder to make ends meet in the USA too.

Re skilled takes time and money. All trades these days require
    certification these days.

I agree whenever i got sacked or the familiar were going to have to “let
you go” i would object and moan but secretly be relived. Then you read
about people topping themselves because they get made redundant. craziness!

  17. Lemon castle says

It isnt right that older people are seen as “on the scrapheap” im just 43
but i guess thats considered old now. People in their 50s and older to me
have alot to offer, they have more understanding, more wisdom more patience
and are usually more reliable , flexable than flighty young people who
haven’t found their feet yet. Its crazy western cultures give higher status
to youth and looks over wisdom and experience. The ancient red indien
cultures looed up and respected their elders.

  18. Lemon castle says

These unemployed people should realise theres nothing wrong with THEM its
society thats totally fucked up. Maybe we should all start forming communes
now for when were old so we dont have to blindly rely on the “system”.

    What’s JSA? People over 50 didn’t squander their cash…If you’re single,
you can’t save money anymore. People are nickle and dimed to death and by
just living, there’s nothing really left to save. You will be there
    someday…get ready for reality.

  20. diswatcher says

    July 27, 2013 at 9:10 pm

I’m actually pretty in tune with reality…I manage to save money on a
student budget! I work very hard. JSA = Job seekers allowance – UK
    unemployment benefit.

You will see in the future how it all comes together…you will be trying
